Road closure of Akers Way - Part 1 - Final Update

Friday, June 09 2017

Akers Way is due to reopen at 1800 on Friday 9th June.

However, part two of the road resurfacing starts on Monday 12th June and a further section of Akers Way will be closed once again, causing Services 15 and 15A to be diverted.

We have been advised by Swindon Borough Council that Akers Way between St. Mary's Roundabout and Cheney Manor Trading Estate Road will be CLOSED at 1000 on Monday 10th April for up to nine weeks for major road reconstruction works.

During this closure Services 15 and 15A will operate via Purton Road, Moredon Road and Cheney Manor Road instead of Akers Way between Wood Hall Roundabout and Beech Avenue, and vice versa.

Buses will NOT be able to call at the following stops in Akers Way - Akers Way Top, Nova Hreod School, Manor Crescent and St Mary's Church.

Passengers are advise to use the nearest available stops at Wood Hall Roundabout, stops in Moredon Road or at St Mary's Church (in Cheney Manor Road).

Also, on Service 5 the 0703 from Kenton Close, Park North (0725 from Fleming Way) will NOT be able to serve Cheney Manor Trading Estate. It will instead operate via the normal service 13 route via Cheney Manor Road and Vicarage Road. Passengers are advised to use the nearest stop at Scarborough Road.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond our control.
